I found myself searching for an image that could carry the weight of what my heart has been longing to express. When I came across a simple picture of the cross, something within me grew still. It wasn’t polished or pristine—far from it. It was worn, weathered, and marked by time. And yet, somehow, that only made it more powerful. Because the cross was never meant to be admired for its beauty. It is sacred because of what it holds—a depth of love, sacrifice, and redemption that words can barely contain. It carries a holy weight, one that calls us to pause, to remember, to feel again the magnitude of what was given. There is a quiet reverence that rises in me when I look at it, a deep awareness that something so significant has, in many ways, been lost in the noise of our world. Not because it has lost its meaning, but because we have forgotten how to see it.
And still, the cross remains—unchanged, unshaken—gently calling us back to its truth.
Your first response may be denial when you begin to consider the possibility that we might be dishonoring the worth of what Jesus accomplished on the cross. Even holding that thought can feel weighty. How could we—His created beings—ever undervalue the ultimate sacrifice of the One who formed us? And yet, if we are honest, there are times when we live as though we do not fully understand what Christ died to give us. We find ourselves walking in bondage, while the cross stands as a sacred reminder that He gave everything so that we might live in true freedom. We carry shame that has already been covered and cling to sins that were forever buried in His sacrifice.
We so easily stand in reverence of earthly things, giving them our awe and attention, yet at times we hesitate to fully stand in awe of the beauty, the power, and the mercy poured out at the cross.
Lord, please don’t ever let the weight and wonder of Your sacrifice on the cross be lost on me. This world feels so heavy and uncertain right now, and at times, it can be overwhelming. But even in the midst of it all, my deepest desire is to hold Your sacrifice close to my heart—to never grow distant from the truth of what You have done for me. Your love is not passive; it is unrelenting, poured out in full, and forever proven through the cross.”
This is my prayer. I know that in the hustle and bustle of life, we can get so deeply involved that we forget about those sacred times we need to set aside with the one who gave it all at the cross. We’re approaching the time we set aside to honor the sacrifice that Christ made for us at the cross. I want to share how we can honor what Christ did at the cross for us in our daily lives.

This might not resonate with you right now. It may never feel like it’s a message for you. It might be parts of it that speak to you and others that do not. That is okay. Some messages or blogs seem irrelevant in one season, and in others, it’s just what we need.   It might be a word to explore now but use later. However, it works for you, im just grateful you are here.

I want to share three ways we can honor God’s work at the cross in our daily lives:

1. Pray through the cross.

Through the cross, we have healing.
Through the cross, we have freedom and deliverance.
Through the cross, we are reminded that we are deeply and unconditionally loved.
Through the cross, we receive the power of the blood of Jesus that was willingly shed for us.

So when you pray, remember this: through the cross, we have access to every good thing Christ died to give us. He gave His life to redeem us from sin, to restore what was broken, and to draw us close to His heart.

When you pray, let it come from a place of reverence, gratitude, and quiet confidence in what He has already finished:

This is what it means to pray through the cross—
to come humbly, yet boldly,
to rest in His sacrifice,
and to receive, with open hands, the love He so freely gave.

2. Don’t be afraid to share with others the love story of the cross.

We should be sharing the beautiful love story of the cross—the depth of a love so profound that while we were still sinners, Christ chose to die for us. But He didn’t just die—He suffered. His body was beaten beyond recognition, exposed and broken, hanging on a tree for all to witness the weight of that sacrifice. At any moment, He could have stopped it. With a word, He could have ended the violence. Yet He stayed. He endured. And in that suffering, it was you, it was me, it was every person He created that filled His heart and held Him there.

That… is love—true, raw, unfiltered love.

3). Live Loved

Sometimes, it’s hard to remember just how deeply we are loved—especially in those moments when we struggle to love ourselves because we feel we’ve failed. In those tender places where our hearts feel heavy, we must gently turn back to the truth of God’s love, so beautifully revealed through His Son, who gave His life for us.

When we reflect on the cross, I pray it becomes a quiet, steady reminder to our hearts—that we are meant to live loved. In the moments when we feel unseen, unworthy, or forgotten, this is the truth we can hold onto: we are deeply loved, fully known, completely seen, and truly wanted. You were on His heart. I was on His heart.
It was love—pure, unshakable love—that held Him there. As we begin to rest in that truth, something within us softens. We don’t have to strive or prove our worth. We don’t have to earn what has already been freely given. His love for us does not waver with our mistakes or shortcomings—it remains constant, steady, and sure. Allow His love to gently cover every part of your life—your fears, your past, your hopes, and all that lies ahead. You don’t have to reach for it.
You don’t have to earn it. Just receive it… and live loved.

Hold firmly to this beautiful truth. Jesus died for us, but he got up with all power in his hands. He rose with all authority. We have set aside this time to remember the cross during this season. I want to challenge you to daily remember the sacrifice he made for us on the cross. I want you to remember his love being on full display that day. You are so loved. Happy Resurrection weekend to you from my heart. Thank you for being here in this space with me. May we always remember the cross and the depth of its impact in our lives.
